We are also looking for any families w/kids coming on this trip.

My will be also (me, wife, daughter (7)).

Great!  Where are you guys from?  Have you cruised before?  Its nice to know that another family  with a girl will be on board.  :)

This is our first cruise.  We will be coming from Enterprise, AL.  We will be staying at the Radisson on Friday and catch the shuttle to the port on Saturday. 

scomyk, I am not cruising till next year, but I see you are staying at the Radission. I hear they have a service where you can leave your car there and they will take you to the port and pick you up on your return. Is this right and how does it work, do you have a minimum number of nights you have to stay and how early can you get to the ship and any idea what the cost of the service is?

 By the way we are almost neighbors, I live in Red Level, AL, just north of Andalusia.

only 1 night stay is required.  They call it the cruise parking package.  It includes free hot breakfast for 2, parking upto seven days, and shuttle service to the port.  For one night stay, it was $129.  With the savings of at least $70 for parking, this deal can't be beat.

we're also cruising next year on the Glory.  May 9th Eastern Caribbean.

scomky, thanks for the info. You said the shuttle service was to the port, do they also pick you up when you get back or will you have to take a taxi back to the hotel.

We are on this cruise as well and also staying at the Radisson.  Looking forward to meeting everyone for a great week!!

If I had known the problems we would run into making ground transportation to get to the ship and back to the airport, I think we would have made our entire reservation with Carnival.  We tried to get our ground transportation tickets with Carnival but we have to go thru the travel agent or the travel company we made our cruise reservation with.  We have been looking into other arrangements but can't see to find a booking for transportation cheaper than $160 round trip for 2.

 Next cruise we both agreed we will book directly with Carnival.  However, this is not discouraging us at all on our upcoming trip on Glory in October.  We will be on that ship and we will have ground transportation soon.

I hate to burst anyone's bubbles BUT in case you haven't seen the weather report for our cruise it is going to be THUNDERSTORMS and WIND.  Now if this isn't going to be a bummer.  At sea for 7 days and it is going to be thundering, lightening and windy.  I wouldn't mind windy with sunny days but I don't want to be stuck inside the boat 7 days dealing with thunderstorms and waves crashing against the ship.  BUMMER!
